Anticipating Fall and Looking for Constants

Yoga can provide a rhythm to the days.

As August approaches, it’s the time of the season when the days start to cool a bit, when those people who love the Fall start to anticipate the brisk days, and those who teach, take or send their children to school begin the (semi permeable) emotion attached to the anticipation of (what I like to title) “RE-ENTRY”.

During re-entry, people may feel a range of emotions from anxiety, stress, excitement, to joy (and everything in between)

… and THAT’s just the School TEACHERS!

However, it IS Best Practices to acknowledge this range and the conflicting nature of these emotions as they can help STUDENTS (too) feel like they're in a supportive environment that acknowledges their discomfort.

Have you ever seen this commercial? (I think EVERY parent has felt this at one time or another)

As we re-enter Fall, School, Approaching the Holiday Season, perhaps contemplate one thing: Yoga. A wonderful way of managing our feelings is through this practice. Recently, I needed to find a solution toward a problem that I simply could not find clarity around. I sought out a resolution (almost) in desperation; seeking a logical answer without listening to the rest of me. I wasn’t successful.  THIS only added to the anxiety surrounding the problem.

Ugh!

I turned to the practice that I have integrated into my life for the past 40 years: Yoga.  Within 30 minutes, I saw-felt-knew the answer. I confirmed it by calling a friend to share my idea and “Voila!” problem solved!

It’s quieting the brain around the swirling ideas and the frenetic noises of our environment. We simply allow the mind-body connection to occur. It always knows best!

Please take advantage of the wonderful offerings from our NEW and FAMILIAR Mosaic Yoga instructors during the month of August (and BEYOND!)
